Popular Portuguese work, inspired or copied from erudite work, period frame with marbled and gilded touches.
The canvas has already been intervened, having been replaced in the frame and “stretched”, as well as its surface cleaned of dirt and refreshed. The frame was restored and purged of any remaining pests, and some of the small crosspieces that consolidated the corners of the frame were kept, as well as the original nails.
